2008

April:   Our members' involvement in the 2008 Homeopathy Awareness Week includes free lectures, meet & greets, information booths and displays, plus discounts and media coverage.


April:   The last weekend of the month marks another successful Annual Conference, AGM, and Post Conference Seminar for WCHS.


June:   WCHS representatives attend two stakeholders meetings with staff from Health Canada regarding our concerns about Bills C-51 and C-52.



2007

April:   Thanks to contributions by WCHS members Diane Louie (HAW Coordinator) and Judy Chorney and Marilyn Hirsekorn, this year's Homeopathy Awareness Week celebrations are a big success.


April:   WCHS celebrates another successful Conference/AGM, followed the next day with a Post Conference seminar.


October:   WCHS sponsors another information booth at the Vancouver Health Show, with over a dozen professional and student members explaining homeopathy to interested passers-by.



2006

March:   West Coast Homeopathic Society and the Canadian Society of Homeopaths submit a joint response to the Natural Health Products Directorate (NHPD) as part of their consultative process to review compounding and raw materials interim policies affecting natural health products.


May:   At another successful Conference/AGM, this year held at the Arbutus Club in Vancouver, members ratify the Board's direction regarding the Canadian Society of Homeopaths and elect a new Board of Directors.


November:   The first snowfall of the season blankets Vancouver as WCHS members celebrate the end of another busy year at our first WinterFest party at the Arbutus Club.



2005

January:   A dozen WCHS members take shifts staffing the WCHS booth at the Victoria Health Show, distributing more pamphlets than ever before!


April:   WCHS joins over 3 dozen other organizations from over 2 dozen countries to celebrate World Homeopathy Awareness Week in honour of the 250th anniversary of Hahnemann's birth.


May:   "Great", "wonderful", "brilliant", and "superb" are some of the descriptions from attendees of the WCHS Annual Conference in Vancouver, with keynote speakers, Karen Allen and Robin Logan, and celebrating our Society's 10th anniversary.


June:   The Political Action committee investigates the question of regulation for homeopaths in Ontario and, as a result, the Board submits a response to the Health Professions Regulatory Advisory Council and at least 40 WCHS members respond with their own comments.


July:   After two years of investigation and negotiation, the Board finally announces a WCHS professional liability insurance group plan for our professional members.


September:   WCHS celebrates the 250th anniversary of Hahnemann's birth on the waterfront at Vancouver's beautiful Locarno Beach.



2004

January:   The WCHS booth at this year's Victoria Health Show attracted over 500 visitors and garnered praise from the Show's organizers.


June:   Members from coast to coast celebrate Homeopathy Awareness Week with free lectures, open houses, mini-clinics, meet & greets, and more!


June:   Our 2004 Annual General Meeting is preceded by a full-day Conference featuring Keynote Speakers Lianne South and Neil Tessler, plus a panel discussion with Michael Goldberg and Julie-Anne Lee.



2003

January:   WCHS members reach 600 interested people at the Victoria Health Show.


April:   WCHS is invited to participate in the Alternative and Integrative Medicine Society (AIMS) Conference at UBC where we present homeopathy to interested university students and other health conscious people.


June:   Thanks to many advertisers who took a chance on our newsletter project, the first issue of Homeopathy Now is released, with a print run of 900 copies.


August:   An anonymous donation provides start-up funds for a Scholarship Fund.


September:   Over 55 people attend our 2003 Annual General Meeting electing a new Board of Directors and, afterwards, enjoying a festive potluck and an abundant raffle.


October:   WCHS members explain homeopathy to nearly 800 people at the Vancouver Health Show.


November:   WCHS raises $1,555 from the Silent Auction held during the HANP Annual Conference in Vancouver.  Many thanks to the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians for inviting us to participate!


December:   The Board establishes an Endowment Fund to award grants in support of homeopathic projects – terms for which will be determined next year.
