Will Taylor is one of North America's leading and most engaging homeopathic educators, recognized as a world-renowned expert in homeopathic medicine. He continues to refine his practice of homeopathy through ongoing study of the old masters of our tradition, contemplation of his own successes and failures in practice, and a synthesis of contemporary teachers.
Born and raised in the dairy farm country of eastern Wisconsin, Will spent much of his childhood in the nearby fields and woods where he developed a strong love for the natural world. This deep awareness of nature influenced his formal study leading to a graduate degree in biochemistry, post-grad study in marine biology, and field studies in the Antarctic.
Following a life-changing experience involving an iceberg, Will's direction turned to medicine. After 7 years of study and residency, he moved to Maine to practice family medicine and explore interests in chronic pain management.
A painful case of shingles, which resolved overnight with homeopathic treatment under the care of a colleague, brought Will to study homeopathy, initially for family and friends. He completed the IFH Professional course in 1988 and this training, combined with a growing dissatisfaction and impatience with the model of conventional medicine, eventually lead to a new practice devoted to homeopathic medicine in Blue Hill, Maine, from 1993 to 2001.
At the same time, Will started developing computer skills that would serve him well over the next decades. He became active sharing his insight and experiences with homeopathy on the internet. He also began teaching at The School of Homeopathy, New York (associated with Misha Norland's School of Homeopathy in Devon, England). In 2002 Will relocated to Portland, Oregon, where he served as Chair of the Department of Homeopathy at the National College of Natural Medicine until early in 2013. Now he is preparing to launch a fully-featured online homeopathic school, Academy for Homeopathic Studies, encompassing both introductory and advanced-level material. He also intends to continue his collaboration with Kim Elia and WholeHealthNow in producing quality webinars and other online continuing education opportunities, such as Taking the Case, where he shares valuable insignts into casetaking and homeopathy.
Will has been widely published in homeopathic journals and online. He has presented at numerous conferences and summer schools in the US and Europe and has taught a 3-year post-graduate programme in the Czech Republic. Later this year he will join Farokh Master in India to teach at a Himalayan Homeopathy Retreat for advanced homeopathic training.
In his spare time, Will enjoys hiking, backpacking, whitewater kayaking, playing the mandolin, and spending time with his family.
